Entegris Gains Another Major Fab Conversion Triumph; Beats Out Competitors In Singapore For $2.9 million Order

CHASKA, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 2005--Entegris, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENTG) today reported a new $2.9 million sale of 200 mm wafer carriers to a multi-million dollar wafer fabrication operation in Singapore. The order is being shipped this month and in February. In beating out two competitors from the region for this order, Entegris enhanced its position as the materials integrity management leader with a strong track record and reputation for expertise in successful fab conversions. Entegris has played a key role in numerous fab conversions since 1999 from North America and Europe, to Japan and now Singapore.

Entegris earned the sale after an intensive evaluation and testing process that compared product performance, technological capability, conversion expertise and wafer handling experience. The company has now garnered nearly $6 million in new wafer carrier sales and two major fab conversions in the Japan/Asia Pacific region in recent months. Entegris officials say that's good news considering the ever-cyclical semiconductor industry.

"Earning this kind of sale is great for our company because it's about more than just the product, it's about the total solution package that Entegris delivers to customers," said Chad Ruwe, vice president marketing, semiconductor. "That customer-focused solution package starts with our materials science expertise, cutting-edge research, and product design, and we wrap it up with our industry advantage in product performance, technical support and follow through. That's an advantage that serves both Entegris and customers well in these up-and-down markets."

The fab conversion is scheduled to begin in mid-February. It will involve replacing the facility's polypropylene wafer carriers to Entegris' advanced STAT-PRO 3000® carriers. Entegris produces this highest performing wafer carrier product to meet the customer's advanced processes and needs. The result is greater process tool uptime, increased fab throughput and higher wafer-level yields for the fab.

By deploying its advanced technology, products and technical-logistical support, Entegris has perfected conversions to the point of least disruption to fab operations. In doing so, Entegris has built a proven and documented record of high customer satisfaction globally for its superior quality wafer carrier products and fab conversion expertise - making the conversion an investment that pays off both for the short and the long term. The conversion experiences shared by fab owner-operators and Entegris proves that putting technically advanced wafer carriers like the STAT-PRO 3000® in place produce valuable benefits for the fab owner by increasing production and yields.
