Entegris Initiates Lawsuit Against Pall Corporation; Entegris Claims Pall Fluid Separation Device Infringes Patent
CHASKA, Minn., Apr 06, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Entegris, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENTG) filed a lawsuit today against Pall Corporation (NYSE:PLL) in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. The suit charges that Pall is unlawfully using Entegris' patented technology in certain of its filtration separation products and requests that the Court order Pall to stop marketing and selling those products. Entegris is the global market leader in providing technology, products and services that purify, protect and transport critical materials used primarily for the semiconductor and microelectronics industries.
Specifically, Entegris charges that a fluid separation device manufactured and marketed by Pall as the PhotoKleen EZD-3 Filter Assembly infringes a patent owned by Entegris covering technology used for point-of-use photochemical dispense and filtration in semiconductor manufacturing. This patent was issued on April 4, 2006 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a continuation of a prior patent that is the subject of pending litigation between Entegris and Pall. Entegris further charges that certain products previously sold by Pall infringe the newly issued patent, including a product which Pall marketed and sold as the PhotoKleen EZD-2 Filter Assembly. Entegris has charged in a separate matter that Pall's PhotoKleen EZD-2 Filter Assembly and EZD-3 Retrofit products infringe other patents owned by Entegris.
Entegris is seeking a preliminary injunction asking the Court to move expeditiously to stop Pall from manufacturing, selling or offering to sell its PhotoKleen EZD-3 Filter Assembly and other infringing products.
